Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn

As if a trip to one of the Seven Wonders of the World wasn’t entertaining enough, planning a stay at the Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn will only up the entertainment factor, especially if you have kids.

Located just two miles or so from the South Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon, the Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn provides spacious accommodations with a southwestern flare. The hotel boasts two on-site restaurants, a bar, fitness center, salon and game room, making it perfect for anyone with boundless energy and/or children.

Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn

The hotel’s game room offers an array of activities to help weary travelers unwind after a long day spent hiking and can occupy children who, let’s face it, are cringing at the idea of seeing one.more.big.rock. In addition to a six-lane bowling alley, the game room also features a variety of arcade games and pool tables.

The Canyon Café, located in the lobby, serves breakfast and lunch in a casual setting. It offers a variety of American and Southwestern regional favorites. The hotel’s other restaurant, the Coronado Room, is a bit classier on the fine-dining scale, boasting an extensive wine list to compliment the meals their chef prepares daily.

The rooms, while well worn, have all the modern amenities including cable internet and TV. Hotel staff will book tours right there at the hotel, so if you suddenly feel like you can’t leave the Canyon without a helicopter ride, they can take care of that for you.

The Down Low/411

As one reviewer puts it, “It’s Best Western, folks” you won’t find five-star amenities or services here (or anywhere near Grand Canyon National Park), but this is one of the better hotel options in the area. The rooms could use an update, as they are used so heavily, so a little wear and tear should be expected. The extra amenities seem to keep people happy, particularly when they know what to expect (and not to expect).

Who is it good for?

This is the perfect place for kids. A game room that offers a wide array of fun is sure to please kids (and adults) of all ages. In addition to the pool tables, video games and bowling, the hotel’s tennis courts and swimming pool are a bit hit providing families a place to crash while they play. The fitness center and whirlpool spa are great amenities of adults and the two restaurants mean you won’t have to venture far for decent food.
