Looking to leave the lights of Las Vegas and escape into the desert for a day? A new tour offered by the iconic Pink Jeep Tours company will have you hightailing it out of the city along Route 66 on route to Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim. A professional tour guide leads the 13-hour excursion in a luxury Tour Trekker vehicle–billed by the company as civilized off-roading. With only six to ten passengers per vehicle, guests can have a personalized tour experience.

The route travels through the Mojave Desert along historic Route 66 to Williams, Arizona, called the Gateway to the Grand Canyon. Williams is also a historic railroad town along the Old Santa Fe Railway. From Williams, it’s another hour through lush ponderosa pine forests in the Coconino Plateau until you reach the Grand Canyon’s South Rim.

A three-hour narrated jeep tour of the park itself includes sweeping panoramic vistas from the Rim Trail of the widest and deepest parts of the canyon. You’ll have a chance to look out from Yavapai Point and Mather Point before taking in the views over lunch in The Arizona Room at Bright Angel Lodge.

A light breakfast and lunch is included in this daylong luxury tour, which costs under $250 per person.
